While there are many advanced tips, techniques, and search operators available from Google, those listed below are easy to master and will immediately help improve the relevancy of the results as you search for information to help you with your Connecticut divorce or similar action.

Google's site: command
The site: command is a way to direct the power and expertise of a Google search at a specific website or group of web sites. As an example below, you can see how to use this command to search only the web site of the Connecticut Judicial Branch (http://jud.ct.gov), followed by keywords that may be of particular interest. In this example, you can see that Google returns just 10 results, saving you significant time by displaying only the most relevant results. [Note: There is no space between the command site: and the target web site.]

You may sometimes find it helpful to use the keyword 'pathfinder' because there are a series of documents created which deal with a variety of Connecticut legal topics.

Google's filetype: command
You can use filetype: as part of a simple search or in combination with other advanced operators. In the example below, we show how to use filetype: in conjunction with the site: command already described. As you might expect, filetype: filters for results of only the specified file type. In this example, asking Google for PDF files only.
